1960s: When the Super Cub Ruled San Francisco

Honda have been producing Motorcycles since way before they manufactured cars. Selling millions upon millions of stylish, affordable and reliable bikes across the globe. Last year the worlds most produced motor vehicle in human history, the Honda cub, passed the 100 millionth mark in production. That’s not including the knock off pirate versions that shady copycat manufacturers have made overseas. Honda USA did particularly well in the 50’s and 60’s due to a series of very successful advertising campaigns such as the classic ‘You meet the nicest people on a Honda’ ad pictured on this page.

Many of these adverts were set in San Francisco, a city notorious for its steep hills that require often more than a single digit horsepower machine to climb. This video is a nice blast from the past to the golden era of motoring.
