Unlike the original Honda Goldwing, the new model doesn’t necessarily lend itself to customisation. However, this didn’t stop Honda pull out all stops to produce this awesome custom bike dubbed as the ‘Cool Wing’ for Daytona Bike Week.
The team over at Steady Garage were tasked with the build. Designer Francis Clement was in charge of the project and set about designing the bike himself. His vision was to pay homage to the mighty Goldwing’s of the past, while also looking to the future.
The bike was treated to a lick of custom light blue paint, air ride suspension, a custom hand-crafted leather seat, batique-style mufflers and more. The air compressor tank for the suspension is neatly tucked away in one of the panniers.
Steady Garage co-founder Kevin Dunn commented “The project was very challenging due to the Gold Wing’s new design, as there was no guidance from any existing builds or projects that fit our style. Our hope was to build a custom Gold Wing that would be appreciated by riders of all ages, interests and backgrounds. We had to make it look cool without stepping away from functionality.”
This build just goes to show, that if thought about and considered carefully, no bike is un-customisable.
