Marc Marquez renews HRC contact for two years

Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) managed to secure their golden boy, the 25-year-old Spaniard by the name of Marc Marquez for another two years, following the announcement that he is to renew his contract.

Beginning in 2019, his contract will bind him to HRC’s incredibly successful Repsol Honda Team, to continue to compete in the FIM MotoGP World Championship.

His success for the team started way back in 2010, winning the 125cc Championship with 14 wins from 14 podiums. In 2011 at the age of just 18, he took the step up to Moto2, winning the title in 2012.

2013 saw him join the premier class Moto GP, winning the world title in his debut year. He became the world’s youngest rider to win the championship after taking the title for the Repsol Honda Team at the age of just 20. Since then he’s gone on to win the title again in 2014, 2016 and 2017.

His most recent championship win means that he is the youngest rider in history to win four titles in the premier class.
