According to Cycle World, a new Africa Twin will be officially confirmed by Honda over the next few months, featuring a more powerful 1100cc engine and updated specifications. The new model which is currently referred to with the code name SD09 will feature a 1,084cc engine, up 86cc from the current 2019 model. This new engine will produce around 101bhp and adhere to the new Euro 5 emissions regulations with a new catalytic converter fitted.
As with the current model, the new model will be released in four variants; both a manual and DCT version of the standard model and Adventure Sports. Both the standard and Adventure Sports models will come with the larger 24 litre fuel tank, an extended range fuel tank only fitted previously to the Adventure Sports.
No further details or images have been released, so it’s unclear to what extend the styling will be changed. You can expect to hear more towards the back end of this year, with a pre-production model being showcased at Intermot and EICMA.
